Join Lafayette's Annual Debris Drop-Off Day For Easy Item Disposal

Lafayette Consolidated Government is holding its annual Debris Drob-Off Day Saturday, March 29 and this is the chance for you to get rid of all of those things piling up around your home.

Got some old tires outside? Want to get rid of the old busted law furniture? These are just some of the items that we be accepted this year.

Plenty of items we have inside or outside of our homes are not things that our garbage services will pick up or these items won't fit in the garbage can. Items like these can be dropped off on Saturday.

Where Will Debris Drop-Off Day Take Place?

If you are ready to get rid of the junk around your house, there are two locations that will be open in Lafayette from 8 a.m. to noon.

You will need to load the items into your vehicle and drive them over to one of the above locations.

Once it is your turn, you will need to be ready to help unload your items.

Be sure to bring your identification. This Debris Drop-Off is for the residents of the city of Lafayette and the unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish. It's for these residents only, as the cost of this event is already paid for as part of their regular garbage services.

LCG Environmental Quality Manager Bess Foret says,

It's a great time to do some spring cleaning......we are offering an option to dispose of old trash and junk while working to divert items from the waste stream and find ways to reuse, repurpose, and recycle.

LCG is teaming up with Louisiana Scrap Metal, Bike Lafayette, Habitat for Humanity, and Keep Lafayette Beautiful to make this possible.
